Innovate for Advantage Lecture
Professor Thomas Lawton will deliver the InterTrade Ireland 2011 Innovation Lecture on Thursday 16th June 2011, at 6.00p.m, in the William Jefferson Clinton Auditorium, University College Dublin. The title of the lecture is “Innovate for Advantage: A Strategic Toolkit for Designing and Delivering a Breakout Strategy”.
Professor Lawton’s central message is that the key ingredients for establishment of a high-performance, double-digit growth companies are entrepreneurs or senior managers who are fired up for change and who have developed a strategic toolkit that can lead to a winning position.
The lecture is based on Professor Lawton’s book “Breakout Strategy” which has been widely commended.
This innovation lecture is being delivered as part of the InterTradeIreland All-island Innovation Programme.
New Accenture Analytics Innovation Centre Opens in Dublin
The Accenture Analytics Innovation Centre (AAIC) has officially opened its doors for business in Dublin. Located at Grand Canal Plaza, Dublin 2, the Centre is backed by the IDA Ireland and will form part of a wider Accenture global network of nine innovation centres dedicated to the demonstration, research & development and delivery of predictive analytics.
The new Analytics Centre will create 100 highly skilled roles over the next three years and the company is currently recruiting employees at all levels from experienced management scientists and statisticians to graduates.

Light Saving Energy Device Wins Sustainable Energy Innovation Award
Innovation Dublin congratulates energy entrepreneurs, Belfield Technology who are based at NovaUCD, on winning the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland’s (SEAI) inaugural Innovation Award.
The Awards attracted a high level of interest from entrepeneurs with innovative products at pre-or early-commercialisation stages. Eight finalists presented their innovations in a dragons’ den format to a panel of expert business ‘dragons’ at the Show.
