Event Spotlight: Interviews – Get that Job in 2012
A talk with recruitment specialist Laura McGrath from Interview Techniques on Thursday, December 15th.
Dublin City Public Libraries’ Career Direction and Development Programme, now in its second year, is a key Dublin City Council employment support initiative, designed as a response to the vastly changed Irish employment and careers landscape.
Through a range of events, including lectures, workshops, information stands, helpdesks, displays and user education programmes, it aims to provide concentrated support to the city’s residents, workers and visitors in sourcing employment opportunities, developing job-hunting skills, and adapting to career changes in the current dynamic environment.
This week’s speaker, Laura McGrath, Managing Director of Interview Techniques, has worked in the recruitment arena for over fifteen years, including 5 years as a director of a leading recruitment consultancy.
As a recruitment specialist she has experience as both interviewer and interviewee. She has published many articles giving advice on successful interviews.
She has also worked as a Human Resource Consultant with a number of Irish and International enterprises, training line managers on how to manage an effective recruitment processes including;
—how to conduct interviews;
—how to select the competencies to be evaluated during the interview;
—providing guidance on selection of the successful candidate.
Such experience has given her a unique insight as to what qualities employers are looking for during the interview process.
The event will take place at Business Information Centre Dublin Central Library in the ILAC Shopping Centre on Thurs, Dec 15th from 6.30pm – 8pm.
Admission is free of charge but booking is recommended.
