Aim Of The Fund

The aim of the fund is to promote better quality media coverage of development issues in the Irish media. 
In 2005, a little over a year after the tragic death of Irish journalist Simon Cumbers, Irish Aid established the Simon Cumbers Media Fund to honour his memory.

Project Categories
•  Print or broadcast
•  Photographic and new media
•  Collaborative projects, e.g, a joint application from a photographer and a print journalist.

Winners will be chosen by a judging panel made up of Irish Aid, the Cumbers Family and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland, and individual media experts.
