The People’s Rainforest in Dublin
A rainforest will be built by Sky TV in The Point Village Dublin. It will be open to members of the public and school groups to experience the rainforest for themselves from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th September. As well as building the rainforest Sky TV will also broadcast on Tuesday 25th September The People’s Rainforest program.
Hosted by Richard Bacon, a TV crew will follow a family for one week as they explore living without the benefits of the rainforest.
During the tours at the Point Village, which are free, fun and interactive, the expert “Rainforest Rangers” will guide people into the forest via a Sky Rainforest Rescue “Canopy Walkway” to learn about the people of the Amazon, their culture and livelihoods, and the threat that deforestations poses for current and future generations.
The tour will also explore how the preservation of the rainforest is essential to life around the world and the effect that deforestation has on climate change.
